Sunspel has always had the same ethos since it's beginning in 1860, founded by Thomas A Hill, he wanted to create an everyday kind of luxury. This involved making simple clothing with wonderful fabrics, which quickly made Thomas A Hill and the Sunspel label pioneering in the fashion world. From dressing the RAF to Nick Kamen in the famous Levi's launderette advert the brand was taking off. Understandably Sunspel caught other designers eyes, like Paul Smith and Margaret Howell were interested. Today, the company is owned by Nicholas Brooke and Dominic Hazlehurst but still with the same elegance in simplicity at heart, Sunspel remains a beacon of British style.
