Nudie Jeans: Repair, Reuse, Recycle
Repair, reuse, recycle and responsibility. Four words that you would not immediately associate with a designer clothing brand. However Swedish denim giants Nudie Jeans do like to do to things differently.
In their own words “organic and/or recycled cotton plus social responsibility” is the mantra of Nudie Jeans in their search for ethical consumerism.
Advocating living wage for those manufacturing its clothing as well as safe and fair working environments for employees, it is the combination of its transparent business model and high quality products that have seen Nudie Jeans become a major player in the world of denim.
Since they were founded in 2001 in Gothenburg, Nudie have sought to spread the word of the unwritten laws of raw denim. No washing in the first six months of purchasing, to give you that authentic, individual pair of jeans that are completely unique. A process that requires some time and effort but a worthy one that is utmost rewarding and as Nudie themselves put it, the process is like ‘developing a second set of skin’.
However if patience isn’t your forte, here at Repertoire we have a number of different pre-wash jeans available for you…
The fit of Nudie jeans vary completely depending on what you are after. If you are seeking a straight fit then go with a Steady Eddie. With a normal rise and regular waist through to a straight leg and tapered opening, they are the most ‘standard’ fit sold here at Repertoire.
For something slimmer try either a Grim Tim or Thin Finn for a slightly more contemporary slim jean.
The skinniest in the range is the Tight Long John. Tight fitting with a narrow leg opening and made with a power stretch denim for maximum comfort.
